"My queue never breaks anymore — even when MTN is dead."
Adaobi Eze runs Mama Adeola's, a six-chair salon five minutes from Lekki Toll. In her own words, the change that mattered wasn't the booking system — it was the moment a customer's card declined on a Saturday and the app didn't care. [EXAMPLE — replace pre-launch]

What changed at Mama Adeola's Salon
Eighteen months on, here's what the salon's Tuesday looks like — compared to what it looked like the week before they switched.
The old salon
- Bookings on WhatsApp, written in a diary. Customer would forget. Staff would forget. Chair empty.
- Old POS rebooted to "update" mid-Saturday. ₦40,000 booking walked out the door, never came back.
- Receipts were a printed slip the customer threw away in the car park.
- "How was last month?" → looking at the WhatsApp PoS app, three bank accounts, and a notebook. Two hours of confusion.
- No-shows: 6–8 per week. Especially Saturdays. Especially braids.
Now
- Booking link on Instagram bio. Customer picks slot. Deposit at booking. They show up — or pay anyway.
- POS offline-first. NEPA, network, blackout — Saturday still happens.
- WhatsApp receipts. Customers screenshot and tag the salon on Instagram. Free marketing.
- Adaobi opens the P&L on her phone before she leaves the house. Done in ninety seconds.
- No-shows: under 1 per week. Mostly customers who actually messaged to cancel.
"
I lost a ₦40,000 booking last December because the POS rebooted to update. The next day I switched. I haven't looked back since.

The Saturday that changed everything
"It was a Saturday in December. Christmas-week busy. Six chairs filled. Three customers waiting. The POS — the old one, won't say the name — chose that moment to update."
"For 22 minutes nothing worked. People who paid cash, fine. People with cards — I had to ask them to come back. Two did. One didn't. ₦40,000 worth of braids, gone."
"By Sunday I was on WhatsApp asking around. A friend in Surulere said try Enimara. I downloaded it that night. By Tuesday I was using it. By Friday I had switched everything over."
"Two weeks later, NEPA took light in the middle of a wedding-party rush. I just kept ringing up sales. The girls couldn't believe it. It just kept working."
"That's the thing I tell other salon owners — it's not the bookings, it's not the WhatsApp, it's not even the profit reports. It's that the app respects that I'm working in Lagos. It doesn't pretend the network is always there."
